Gate Entry is compulsory for all visitors. That is the fee that allows you to access the park.
In addition, except your visit is strictly for a picnic, the Park Viewing, Nature Trail, and Tour Guide fees are necessary payments.
Of course, you will likely be entering with your smartphone that has a camera, if not for any other purpose, at least to capture your visit in photos or videos for memory. Therefore, the Camera Fee is also necessary.
Your basic required fees, therefore, are five (5): Gate Entry, Park Viewing, Nature Trail, Tour Guide, and Camera Fees. Each of these fees, at N1,000 for an adult Nigerian, brings your total expense as an adult Nigerian visitor to N5,000.
Your N5,000 payment gives you a tour guide, allows you to experience the Nature Trail and park viewing, and permits you to use your camera phone for snapshots or video recordings.
The use of any additional camera, whether another phone or a professional camera, attracts an extra fee of N1,000 per device.
Other Fees...
Some visitors prefer to camp within the forest. Some foreign visitors who have visited in the past chose to use their tents. If you are visiting to stay and plan to use a tent to camp inside the forest, you will pay a Camping Fee.
If you are staying overnight or longer, normally, the park provides accommodation in the form of chalet rooms, a guest house, and a student hostel, at varying prices per night.
For details about the accommodation, visit the Okomu Park Pilot Page.
If you have luggage and would like park staff to carry it to the lodge, you will pay a Porterage Fee. See the tariff above.
